Most of what you tell IRISHOME stays on your television. A few things leave it so that IRIS can speak to you.
This policy says exactly which, where they go, and how long they stay. It replaces the policy of 10 October 2026. IRISHOME is made by House of Handle LLC.
The short version
- Your television keeps its own setup — your city’s exact coordinates, your daypart times, your music and motion choices, which Collection is showing, whether you are subscribed — on the television and nowhere else.
- When you finish setup, your television tells our server five things: the name you asked to be greeted by, your city’s location rounded to about eleven kilometres, your time zone, the room’s name, and a random identifier for the television. Nothing leaves before you press Finish, and the Finish screen says so.
- When you talk to IRIS, what you say is transcribed, answered and spoken by three services working for us — Deepgram, Anthropic and ElevenLabs — and the audio is not kept.
- If you connect a phone, you sign in with your email address. That is the only account there is, and the television never needs one.
- There are no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no advertising or analytics software in the app. We never sell or share your information with anyone for their own purposes.
- You can delete everything from the television, from your phone, or at irishome.ai/delete-account.
What stays on your television
When you set up IRISHOME you tell it a few things so it can show you your own screen. These are kept in the app’s own storage on that television and are not sent to us:
- the exact coordinates of your city (we receive only a rounded version, below)
- the times of day you would like morning, afternoon, evening and night to begin
- whether you want music and motion artwork, and which Collection is in use
- whether your subscription was active the last time Google Play was asked
If you uninstall the app or clear its data, that information is gone.
What leaves your television, and when
Nothing leaves before you finish setup. A television that has not finished setup has never contacted us — with one exception you choose: if you type an access code on the membership screen (we give these to app reviewers and the press), the television sends that code, and nothing else, to be checked.
When you press Finish, and each time the app reconnects afterwards, your television sends our server:
- the name you asked to be greeted by — so IRIS can address you
- your city’s location, rounded to a tenth of a degree (about eleven kilometres) — so IRIS knows when the sun rises and sets. Never the exact coordinates, and never from a sensor: it is derived from the city you typed
- your time zone — so IRIS knows the time in the room
- the room’s name — “Bedroom”, or whatever you called it
- a random identifier the app made up for this television, so our server can tell it apart from others. It is not your device’s serial number, advertising ID, or anything Google or the manufacturer would recognise
While IRISHOME is on screen the television keeps a connection open to our server so IRIS can speak into the room. When the app is not on screen, the connection closes. If the calendar sheet is open, the television tells us which view and date it is showing, so that “and tomorrow?” means something.
If you try Ask IRIS from the remote, the television also sends a short compatibility report — the television’s make and model, its Android version, the app version, and whether the microphone worked. Never the audio, never what you said. We use it to learn which televisions’ microphones work with IRISHOME. It is not stored.
You can switch IRIS off in Settings. With IRIS off, the television makes one request when it starts (to ask whether calendar features are available) that carries none of the above.
Ask IRIS
When you hold the button and speak — on your phone, or on the remote — here is what happens:
- Your voice goes to our server and on to Deepgram, which turns it into text. We do not store the audio; it passes through memory and is discarded. We opt every request out of Deepgram’s Model Improvement Program, so Deepgram keeps your audio only as long as it takes to turn it into text, and does not use it to train its models. On a Google TV streaming device, the remote’s microphone is handled by Google’s own speech recogniser, which sends us the words rather than the audio; Google’s privacy policy governs that step.
- The words, together with what IRIS needs to answer — the name you are greeted by, the room, the time, sunrise and sunset, your upcoming reminders, up to twenty things you asked IRIS to remember, and the last six things said in the last ten minutes — go to Anthropic, whose Claude model composes the reply. Anthropic does not use this to train its models; it may retain it for a limited period for safety purposes under its API terms.
- The reply is turned into IRIS’s voice by ElevenLabs and played in the room. We delete each sentence from our ElevenLabs account as soon as its audio has been made, so the things IRIS says to your household do not accumulate there. The spoken reply is kept on our server for a few minutes so your television can fetch it, becomes unreadable after five minutes, and is deleted within a day.
What IRIS keeps. The last six exchanges are kept for ten minutes so a follow-up makes sense, then forgotten; they are shown to nobody. Reminders and anything you say “remember that…” about are kept in your household’s records until you delete them from your phone, or ask IRIS to forget them. IRIS’s daily greetings are spoken the same way; a greeting that includes your name is made fresh each time and is not kept.
Your phone
Connecting a phone is optional. If you do:
- Sign-in. You sign in with your email address, using a six-digit code we email you (the email also carries a link that does the same). There is no password. Your email address and the record of which household, televisions and phones are yours are held by Supabase, our database provider. The email is sent for us by Resend, which sees your address and the message it delivers. The sign-in software on the page is served from our own server, not from a third-party network.
- Photos. Photos you add are resized on your phone before they are sent, stored on our server (up to twenty), shown on your televisions, and deleted when you remove them or delete the household.
- Reminders, remembered facts and rooms you type on the phone are stored in your household’s records.
- “Report this response.” If you report something IRIS said, the words you said and her reply are kept in your household’s records so we can read them if you ask us to. We do not otherwise read conversations.
- Pairing. When a phone enters a pairing code, our server counts wrong guesses against the phone’s internet address for one minute to stop guessing. The record is deleted within a few minutes.
Who processes your information for us
These companies process data on our behalf, under contract, and only for the purposes above. None of them may use it for their own purposes.
| Cloudflare | Runs our server and stores your household’s records, photos and short-lived audio |

| Deepgram | Turns your voice into text |
|---|
| Anthropic | Composes IRIS’s replies |

Your subscription
IRISHOME is one subscription, bought and billed through Google Play, which includes every Collection. Payments, renewals, pausing, refunds and cancellation are handled entirely by Google, under Google’s privacy policy. We never see your payment details, and we cannot cancel a subscription for you — only Google Play can, at play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions.
The app asks Google Play whether the Google account on your television has an active subscription, and remembers the answer on the television for up to seven days, so your Collections keep working when the internet does not. That answer is not sent to us. Collections are not downloaded: every Collection is already inside the app.
Deleting your IRISHOME account does not cancel your subscription. They are separate: the account is the email you signed in with on a phone; the subscription belongs to the Google account on the television. To leave altogether, cancel in Google Play first, then delete your account.

What we do not do
No analytics. No advertising. No tracking across apps or sites. No selling or sharing of your information for anyone else’s purposes. No weather service and no calendar connection today — if we add either, this policy will say what is sent, where, and why, before it is switched on. No control of your home’s devices in the product you can buy.
The website and our emails
The website, irishome.ai, does a few small things the app does not, and they are listed here so the page stays honest:
- If you leave your email, it goes to our email provider, Resend, so we can keep the list, send you a confirmation, and write to you about IRISHOME — its launch, how to get started, and occasional news. If you tell us which TV you have, that is kept with your email so we can write once when IRISHOME arrives on it. Every email has an unsubscribe link; one click removes you from all of them.
- If you message us on Instagram — for example by commenting a word on one of our posts — our replies are sent through ManyChat, a messaging tool that works with Instagram. ManyChat holds that conversation and your Instagram name, as Instagram itself does. If you give us your email there, ManyChat passes it to Resend and it is kept exactly as above.
- What we note about our emails: which of their links you clicked — including an answer you choose to a question we ask — so the next email goes only to the people it is for. We do not track whether you open them. Nothing else is attached to your address.
- If you also sign in to IRISHOME on a phone with the same address, we use that only to stop sending you invitations to try it.
- On the homepage and behind it, one cookie remembers that you have been let in, so you are not asked twice. The pages count which step people reach, which kind of television they tell us they have, how much of our video was played, and whether someone made a preview of their screen or saved it as a wallpaper (never the name typed into it, which stays on your phone), under a random number that is not your email and cannot be turned back into it, with the kind of device you are on and the country your connection comes from — never your city or your IP address. This counting happens on our server. There is no advertising pixel, no analytics script in your browser, and nothing from any social network on this site.
Purchases happen only on Google Play, never on this website. Ask and your email is removed.
Children
IRISHOME is a home décor product for a general audience. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, write to us and we will delete it.
Your choices
- To change what the television sent us: Settings → Advanced → Run setup again. Your television forgets its setup and, if no phone has joined it, our server deletes the household with it.
- To delete a photo, a reminder, or something IRIS remembers: from your phone, or ask IRIS to forget it.
- To delete the household (everything IRIS holds for it): from your phone, if you are its owner. Every television in it is told to forget it; each keeps its own setup and keeps working.
- To delete your account (your email address, every household you own, and your phones from any other): on your phone under Household, or at irishome.ai/delete-account. It is immediate and cannot be undone. Or write to us from the address you signed in with, and we will delete it within 30 days and confirm.
- To see what we hold about you: write to us. There is little — the table above is the whole list — and we will send it.
- For your subscription: cancel or change it in Google Play — see irishome.ai/manage-subscription. Deleting your account does not cancel it.
Changes to this policy
When something changes in what the app sends or keeps, this policy changes first, and the date at the top changes with it.
We will not quietly start collecting something under a policy that says we do not.
